Studio Practice – ‘Intertwine’

This is a dance improvisation exploration, exploring my movement relationship with a spool of jute twine. I use a process of choreographic composition that comes from the body and evolves through layers of improvisations.

This is work in progress material from a performance piece, working in collaboration with poet Olive Broderick and composer Martin Devek. Intertwine emerged as idea for a dance piece from the diirect experience of improvising with the twine. From there, the movement material evolved from layers of dance improvisations, writings, conversations, and poetry writing.
